Marching on…

Just wanted to give you a quick update on what’s happening in the studio this month.

I just hosted a Specialty Workshop at AR Workshop Gig Harbor on March 12. It was well attended and we had a lovely time painting a set of 3 herbs in a botanical style. I’m hoping to teach there once per quarter. The setting is very conducive to creativity and the staff are friendly and helpful.

I have been teaching private lessons in my home studio and this is so much fun! So far this year I have taught 2 different individuals (vax’d and boosted!) and hope to continue throughout the year. If you or a group are interested in private lessons, contact me here or send me an email!

Lastly, true to my new year’s goals, I have been trying my hand at painting portraits. So far I have only attempted to paint simple monochromatic versions of my grandsons but I hope to advance my skills as time rolls on. So far, I am finding that it is imperative to choose a photo with good shadows. That may sound easy, but you’d be surprised at how tough it is to find a “good” photo.

This is Jack!

I plan on offering some new classes soon – details to follow!

Cheers!
